The Studio Ghibli litter was the first and only litter we planned for our superstar girl Moro and boy, she really made it a good one!
We made the decision to pair her to our newly imported boy, Winter.
Having already seen an aspect of our lineage paired similarly overseas, we were as confident as we could be that it would be a good combination!

Moros pregnancy was very textbook, she gracefully carried her babies to full term. Sadly, i will be honest, she didn’t enjoy the responsibility once they were born. We had never experienced a mother not take to her puppies, and we haven’t since. Moro had a good amount of milk and all the tools to provide, and with some trust and a safe space we worked out a safe routine for her and her puppies to safely meet the requirements for both parties.
Evaluating this litter was a nightmare! I wasn’t prepared to how emotionally attached i was going to feel with this litter. I realized how easy it could be to allow that to sway your decisions, and not always in the right way.
Thankfully I grounded myself and did what we are supposed to do, evaluated each puppy against the breed standard and made the critical decisions we are required to.
