Ashitaka is another puppy we kept from our 2021 Studio Ghibli Litter (Moro x Winter)
Sadly Ashitaka was a monorchid puppy, meaning only one testicle descended, therefore he could not be shown or bred. Due to this he hasn’t been to many events while we waited for him to be a suitable age for growth before desexing. In that time he has been a wonderful companion and remained a very close relationship with his siblings, Calcifer and Reasan.
Despite being unsuitable for breeding we still completed his health clearances with the following results -

We find this information incredibly valuable and complete these clearances on as many of our offspring as we can.

Ashitaka made his debut into sled dog sports in 2025 with great success. We believe he is going to have a fun, long career running in harness alongside his littermates.
He has now been desexed, making his opportunities far broader!
His show debut was at the 2025 Alaskan Malamute Club of Victoria’s Championship Show, where he was awarded Neuter Challenge Dog and BOS under Mr. Craig Phillips (VIC).

On his second weekend in the neuter class Ashitaka was very well recieved at the Portland Kennel Club Championshop show cluster being awarded
4x Best Neuter of Breed, 4x BEST NEUTER IN GROUP, 2x BEST NEUTER IN SHOW!
accumulating a massive 67pts towards his Neuter Champion title in one weekend!

We will be concentrating on having some fun dabbling in the neuter ring with this handsome guy! My show career started in the neuter ring with my original girl, Mavya. I look forward to campaigning another neuter as i find it to be a relaxing class.
Ashitaka will be accompanying his siblings in more events, and remain being a very much loved part of our family.
