Calcifer is one of our superstar keepers from our Studio Ghibli litter in 2023.
By 4 weeks we knew there was something special about this outgoing little puppy. He really depicted the right aspects of both his parents combined, every breeders dream!
This was made even more abundantly clear at 6 weeks when we snapped a picture of him posing almost perfectly as our logo. We knew immediately we needed to see a harness on this dog!

In his short few years of life he has achieved some outstanding results in everything he has participated in.
His early life we focused on his conformation career. By 6 months he was already being awarded over strong and mature competition under international judges, more often than not having to beast his mother, Moro. He was very well received in the ring and achieved his Championship before 12 months of age.

Calcifer’s working career is shaping up to be his biggest triumph yet! After completing his first full weight pull career, Cal has already been awarded TOP HONOURS earning his WWPD, WWPDA, WWPDX AND WWPDM in his first 8 events with the following results:

These results are nothing short of amazing. In my 12 years involvement in this sport, i have NEVER seen these numbers be reached. I honestly think the WWPDM requirements are a bit steep so the fact he has achieved it is really mind blowing! He now holds the HIGHEST WEIGHT PULLED under any ANKC Sanctioned in Australia at just 2 years old!
We are hoping to see an exciting, long weight pull career for this young dog! He has certainly made a reputation for himself in this discipline, we are hoping to get to some different states in 2026!

His successes don’t stop at weight pull. 2025 saw his debut into Sled Dog Racing in Australia - with a handful of very promising runs he also brought home FASTEST ALASKAN MALAMUTE TEAM alongside his sister Reasan in 2 Dog Bikejor at the SASDC Trophy Race and ASSA National. Next year we are hoping to see more trails behind this seriously impressive dog and his littermates.

Calcifer has also excelled in a Niche new sport in Australia called Sprint Dog! This sport is just for fun where the dogs chase a plastic bag (The lure) for 100m for two qualifying runs. He has had some absolutely mind blowing runs averaging between 38 - 40 km/h! Calcifer received his first title in just 3 trials, and has since gone on to achieve the next category title, SPRD in under 12 months competing in the sport. I believe he is the FIRST Alaskan Malamute to be awarded this title.

Calcifer has proven himself at stud producing healthy and sound offspring. He has already produced multiple Australian Champions, the first Malamutes to be awarded their CIBJ titles in Australia and our kennels FIRST Best in Specialty Show winner.
