Storm is really the true founder of Polarhike with the contribution of Moro who was born in his first litter in 2019. Not that we knew that would be his legacy at the time.

Strom began as my first entire Pedigree dog. I had been campaigning Mavya in the neuter class and I’d had the pleasure to show his father, Chewy and Sheena sparingly in the open classes. Storm was the first dog I was given to campaign to his Championship.
Storm was also my first experience in a slow maturer, not reaching his maturity until 4 years old.
He wasn’t well received in the show ring so we made the decision to focus on some different things while we waited and hoped he would mature into the dog he eventually did.

Storm has changed the course of his life many times while he accompanied me through multiple lifestyle changes and some of the most challenging times of my life. He has always been an adaptable, well rounded and stable dog, who leaves his mark etched in the hearts of people lucky enough to have met him.
He has traversed many hundreds of kilometers in harness, getting us home safe *almost, every time. (with the exception of 1 echidna :P )

Storm has traversed harness work all over Australia, He has successfully completed trails in SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. He ran his part in bringing home many awards for his efforts in 3 and 4 dog. Some of his highlights:

I was pretty new to tracking all these achievements, they were really just a bonus to me and never a priority. I was really just living my best life alongside a really awesome team of dogs.

Shortly after our sledding trip of a lifetime, Storm sired his first litter in 2019 after passing his health clearances with the following results -

HD 1.1 | ED 0.0 | PN: NEGATIVE | CONE DEGEN: CLEAR | Long Coat: NEGATIVE/CLEAR | HEART: NORMAL

Health testing has come a long way, specifically DNA panels since Storm was cleared. In 2021 Storm also passed his Eye and Thyroid clearances.

Once his progeny were elidgible to show we hit the ring with a daughter/dad duo! After our big trip away Storm was in tip top shape and gained his Australian Championship winning multiple, competitive Best of Breeds. He did it in only a handful of weekends, far more success than in his younger years! We decided to retire Storm from the conformation ring shortly after obtaining his championship. He is not the perfect dog (that doesn’t exist!) but Moro was a far better representation of the breed and that is sometimes the responsible choice to make! He is now a Sire, Grand Sire and Great Grand Sire to multiple champions, one being one of the most titled malamute bitches in the country! so I’d says he’s had a worthy contribution, but I might be biased!
